We later recorded the vocals in November 2007 at our own home studio. The album was mixed and mastered by Craig Boychuk in Winnipeg from December 2007 – March 2008.

Though this is not a song that will appear on the new album, Vangorge still gives you a listen into the writing process of the new album as well as a distorted preview of some of the music that will be on "Disgorge Mexico".

2008-05-07 | Disgorge Mexico road journal & medicated story telling…
Digging through all the crap that I horde, I stumble upon a whole bunch of items that I collected during the 2 week road trip to Mexico and back to write the new album. Though I remember my initial intentions were to write an actual journal, I wasn't in the right frame of mind to do it, so I basically ended with a whole bunch of random notes and drawing on various thing I picked up on the trip. I scanned everything that I found, which includes a list of work song titles, tab, photos, comics, pre-production notes and more drugged out ramblings. You can check it all out in our pictures on Myspace (in the "Disgorge Mexico Road Journal" album).

Also thought this would be a good time to re-post my written recollection of the pre-road trip story, as I wrote it back in September from my "rehab" facility in Victoria, BC. I don't actually remember writing it, but it's there, and now here it is:

Day 1: Ghettno, QC (date unknown):

Fuck The Facts aren't a bunch to cop out on contractual obligations, so we were more then surprised when 2 high powered lawyers and 3 muscle goons showed up at our house Monday evening. It turns out certain folks don't have much of an appreciation for our album "Keybored: Igloo Nation Of The Apocalypse", and after giving Vil a swift 15 minute beating we were handed papers with orders to complete a new album ASAP. Soon after the cavalry leave, Mel, Vil & I are left alone to pack Vil's wounds with frozen peas and contemplate the process we could under go to complete a new album under these circumstances. The idea of sticking around town and doing things the old-fashioned way was quickly dismissed and when Mel arrived at the living room table with a tray of vintage Mexican spice tea for everyone the answer became simple. "Mexico." I said, "We need to travel to Mexico, that's the only way we can write this album." "We can use our recording advance to fund the trip" followed Mel, holding the check which was still stained with Vil's blood in her hand. Ideas were shooting from everyone's mouth in quick secession and it all added up.

We spent the next couple of hours packing our bags, limiting ourselves to only the most needed of materials; 2 milk crates of audio cassettes containing various jam and demo tapes with the riffs that would make this record, a Tascam 4-track recorder, a Radio Shack hand-held recorder, A 1987 Aria Pro 2 guitar with 4 strings and 5 broken tuning pegs, 14 obligatory black only band shirts and 17 bottles of the cheapest red wine you can buy. As I folded my Regurgitate t-shirt and placed it into the bag, I thought about what was to really happen. This journey would take us to distant places and make us see horrible things about ourselves that we might never recover from, I couldn't put Mel through this. I pleaded with her to stay home and work on the artwork and lyrical ideas while Vil and I get started on the first few songs and then we can rendezvous in Nashville once the worst has passed. Mel is insistent on coming with us, but once I remind her that the child she is carrying is the future of this band, she agrees to stay home. I give her a kiss on the forehead not knowing if I'll ever see again.

After playing 365 shows in the past 285 days, our ridiculous nature has made it impossible for anything to work with the borders of reason; this album will probably kill us all or at least destroy the last shreds of sanity we're still left with. With the van packed, and after it takes 15 minutes to actually get it started, Vil and I drive off. I shed a tear thinking that these might be my last days, as we approach the liquor store where we can cash the recording advance and start our journey.

Upon entering the store we are greeted by a Pakistani man with a thick Chinese accent, who is more then pleased to rip us off. "10% is mine!" he says with a sinister grin. "Look dude, this all we got to record our next album and this has to get us to Mexico or some bad people are going to break my drummers legs over there." I reply pointing to Vil, who is managing to sneak 2 large cans of Milwaukee Light into his pants. The man soon recognizes us as Fuck The Facts and turns to belittling us for a little while. "Ah, yes your last album "Stigmata High-Five" not so good. I will only take 5% then, in hopes that you can make something half-decent." We take his money , steal a few more beers and leave with a "thanks fuck-wad" and our middle fingers extended. The door closes behind us with a "Thank you, come again."

Back in the van we open a couple of the beers and start to head towards the border at Ogdensburg. We have "Danzig 2: Lucifuge" cranked and are screaming along to "Tired Of Being Alive", with all the excitement I manage to barely swerve out of the way of a deer crossing the highway late at night. We recover quickly enough, but Vil turns to me and says, "Man, I think that deer was after Glen Benton from Deicide, we should stop him." We start laughing and Vil punches me in the face.

We arrive at the border and do our best to look legit. It's about 1 am now, so there isn't much happening here, which gives them plenty of time to check us out. As I open my mouth to talk and hand over our passports, a tooth which Vil knocked loose falls out of my face. The border guard isn't impressed and orders us to pull over for inspection. We pull over, stumble out of the van and head into the border patrol office. The border office looks much different then how I remember it; the lights are very dim with small red spot lights in the top corners, incense is burning in the corner and on a tree perched in the middle of the room is an owl. Beside the owl stands a 7 foot black man wearing a Dillinger Escape Plan t-shirt, he motions us to come closer and tell us that he speaks for the owl. "I know why you are here." He says in a low voice. Uneasy about this whole situation I try and break the ice; "Look man, I already gave the guy at the gate our passports." I say. "I'm not here to discourage you, I am here to be your guide, bring you to your destination." The man says as the bird jumps on his shoulder. "You can not write this album without my help, your future is black and with my help you might survive the journey." We agree to follow the owl, because it doesn't seem like we have much of a choice, but before we go we have to watch the movie "Firewalker" starring Chuck Norris and Louis Gossett Jr., The movie really sucks but the black guy really seems to like it, so we're all smiles. We just want to get the fuck out of there. Soon after the movie is done the owl flies out the window, we high-five the dude get our passports and jump back in the van with extra motivation to get this fucker done.

We'll be driving all night, so hopefully we can get some good shit done. Vil has already popped in a tape of riffs and is taking notes on what ones we can use. The tape sounds like shit and we only have one speaker, but like the saying goes; "When life gives you shit, make shit salad." or in our case another piece of Canadian Bastardized Grindcore.

2008-05-02 | "Audio Tour Journal" Uploaded
Just to give you some background, I've uploaded to our Myspace player CLICK HERE the "Audio Tour Journal" from our last tour in June 2007, before we left to start writing our new album "Disgorge Mexico". Some of you might remember this being released before, back in the fall, when I put it up from my rehab facility in Victoria, BC. But I thought I should put it back up, cause it sets up well what's about to follow.

Though the Audio Tour Journal is 2 days in 6 parts, I've put all into one track. These recordings we're made on our modified van stereo, never mixed, with no additional processing.

2008-04-24 | New album DISGORGE MEXICO – Track Listing & more…
If you were paying attention last summer/fall you might remember some rambling about a new Fuck The Facts album called "Disgorge Mexico". Well, this album does exist and should see release this summer on CD and LP via Relapse Records.

We recorded it in August of 2007 with Craig Boychuk at Liverpool Court Studios in Ottawa. The track listing is as follows:

0. Borders
1. No Return
2. Absence And Despite
3. Kelowna
4. As Empires Expand And Collapse
5. Dead End
6. Driving Through Fallen Cities
7. La Culture Du Faux
8. State Of Panic
9. No Place For
10. The Storm
11. Apathy Is A Karma Killer
12. Golden Age
13. The Pile Of Flesh You Carry
14. Sleepless

For those interested, here's the story of what basically happened at the FTF camp over the past year.

We completed what we planned to be our last tour for "Stigmata High-Five" at the end of June 2007, a regional tour with Emeth and Heaps Of Dead. We came home and parted ways with our bass player Steve for reasons that aren't that uncommon of why bands and people split.

A few weeks later we jumped back in the van and spent the next 2 weeks on a road trip to Mexico and back writing our new album, we made regular stops, staying with friends that let us jam in their basements, garages, stores, whatever… We came home with 15 new songs and spent another week or so fine tuning shit and getting ready to record. In August we enter Liverpool Court studios in Ottawa with our producer of choice Craig Boychuk at the board. We spend 11 days tracking our new full-length album which we had given the working title "Disgorge Mexico".

I guess it could be many factors, but at this point we were pretty much burnt out as a band and as individuals. Mel had moved back to Montreal, and after the music was tracked for the album that was pretty much it. Mel was gone, I was pretty heavy into drinking and drugs, and Vil, being the tough kid he is did his best to keep things together. But we decided a break was in order, so Craig flew back to Winnipeg with our album and I flew to B.C. to drink, do as many drugs as possible and then eventually straightened myself out.

We hadn't broken up, but we had no plans and even finishing the album at times didn't seem like it was gonna happen. It wasn't till October that we started talking to each other again. I was back home bored as fuck, Vil was bored and Mel was back in Ottawa with a new job, probably bored too. We got back into it slow and November recorded the vocals in my home studio, and shipped it off to Craig to mix and master the album in December.

The process was long, not only sending mixes back and forth through the net but it seemed like we ran into every problem possible. During the mix of this album my dad, step father and grand father had all past away. It was an intense time and we had also started doing small tours in January that slowed shit down even more. Finally, in March everything was finished and we shipped the masters off to Relapse.

So that's it… Our new album "Disgorge Mexico" is done, and we'll be posting mp3s from it, videos from the studio and road trip, and more soon.

2008-02-14 | Split 10" w/ The Crinn, World Downfall & Nesseria - Out Now!
Germany's IV Seasons Records has just released a 4-way split 10" vinyl record with us, The Crinn, World Downfall & Nessaria. The release is limited to 500 hand numbered copies and features our song "What's Left Behind" taken from the album "Stigmata High-Five".

Here's the official press release from the label:

Be prepared for the second IVseasons records release, everyone. We are damn proud to announce that our second 4-way-split vinyl will contain the overwhelmingly brutal Canadian grindcore four-piece FUCK THE FACTS, the insane and impressively talented chaos core heroes THE CRINN from USA, Germany's top grindcore machine WORLD DOWNFALL and a major contribution from France to the convergish type of punkrock driven hardcore called NESSERIA.

Each band is going to enrich your musical horizon since once again we've brought bands together that have the spirit of heavy music in common but a completely different way to express this spirit in their songs and thus do NOT sound the same. There is no more room for wanna-be's and rip-off's... period!

To make sure you'll get your copy of this strictly limited record contact IVseasons records: IVseasonsRecords@aol.com
